It’s time to decorate our nursery room! I’m a super organized person and I like to have things done WAY before their due. If they’re not, I tend to stress out. So I just have to start decorating everything to be done in time. It's always exciting to choose the decor in your newborn's room Click To Tweet, especially if it’s your first baby! I know for us our budget wasn’t huge to spend on baby decor so I had to come up a way to make it look cozy without spending too much money. This DIY Nursery Moon Wall Decor is actually way easier than it looks (and I find it looks super cute). Also, I pretty much spend nothing to make it!
So here’s how it’s done:
What you need:
- Cereal Cardbox
- Wood slices in different shapes and sizes
- Black Paint/Paint Brush
- Hot Glue Gun
- Small Self-Leveling Hanger
First off, you draw out your moon shape on one half of the cardboard. Mine was 14 inch in length and 17 inch in width.
After that, you cut it out and trace it onto the other half of the cardboard.
Now, you just hot glue them on top of each other. This will make your background more sturdy. Then paint it all black.
After the paint has dried, you can take all your little wood slices and line them up on the moon shape. Play around a little bit and see what looks best. Then just hot glue them on.
Just turn the moon around and staple each slice a couple times onto the cardboard. This keeps the wood slices on there super tight and you don’t need to worry about them falling off.
Finally, hammer the small self-leveling hanger on the back and done you are!
