Happiness Box DIY

Hi everyone,

This was one of my favorite gifts to make! It was so easy and so thoughtful at the same time. This present was for my sisters 20th birthday and she totally loved it!

I wrote some happiness quotes on each paper and rolled it up. That way she can take one out whenever she feels like it.

What you need:

  • A Tin Shaped Box (I got mine from the dollar store)
  • Box Cover Paper (I got mine from the dollar store as well)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pretty Scrapbooking Paper
  • Scissors
  • Jute Twine
  • Happiness Quotes

I took the ‘box cover’ or whatever you want to call it and wrote ‘Happiness Box’ with a white Sharpie.IMG_5108 - Copy.JPG

Then I took the hot glue gun and glued the burlap on the box.IMG_5111.JPGNow take your pretty Scrapbooking or Construction Paper and cut in in different sized papers. First of all write quotes of whatever you want on there. I used happy quotes. You can find a couple suggestions down below.IMG_5107

Examples of Quotes:

  • To be happy, we must not be too concerned with others.
  • It isn’t what you have or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy, it is what you think about
  • Create a Life you don’t need a vacation from.
  • Life only comes around once, so do whatever makes you happy & be with whoever makes you smile.
  • The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy is all that matters.
  • Today I will be happier than a bird with a french frie.
  • Happiness is a choice, you can choose to be happy. There’s going to be stress in life, but it’s your choice whether you let it affect you or not.
  • It doesn’t matter who hurt you or broke you down, what matters is who makes you smile again.
  • Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself; in your way of thinking.
  • Train yourself to find the blessing in everything.
  • Whatever you decide to do, make sure it makes you happy.
  • Happy can make you money, but money can’t make you happy.
  • Be happy for this moment, this moment is your life.
  • People don’t notice whether its winter or summer when they’re happy.
  • Just find yourself happy with the simpler things, appreciating the blessings God gave you.
  • Being happy never goes out of style.IMG_5105.JPG

Now roll them all up and use some jute twine to fasten them up. You could also use some lace instead of jute twine. Finally stick them all in the box and the happy reading can begin 🙂IMG_5108.JPGIsn’t it adorable?IMG_5113What happiness quotes did you find?

How To Get Rid Of Spray Paint

Hi Guys,

All of us who love spray painting can probably relate to this ‘before’ picture – at least once! I had the pleasure of covering my hand full of spray paint just before an important meeting. Now tell me, can you go to a meeting with hand covered in white paint? No, that would be the worst nightmare.

How did I get all that spray paint on my hand? Well, that was another one of my great moments. I decided to spray paint some owls white for a project and – of course- did it outside. Who want’s all that fume in your house, right? Well, I didn’t consider the extreme humidity outside so the spray painting was a total fail! I tried to wipe it off before it would dry and that way got it all over my hands! Of course I knew you could get rid of it after it dried.. but I guess the moment took overhand.

So I needed to get rid of it, fast. Really fast. First I tried Nail Polish at first, but that BARELY worked and it did not smell great. Instead of breathing in those chemicals, I tried some vegetable oil that we had at hand. It worked wonders!!! It was probably one of the easiest things I have every cleaned!

The reason vegetable oil works so well is, because it workstheir way into your skin and that way instead of rubbing the paint into your pores – like water – it opens your pores and gives your cleaning a free way!

What you need:

  • Vegetable Oil
  • Baby Wipes

Step 1: Take your vegetable oil and place a bit on your hand. Rub it around your hands till you feel the need to take new oil. Take a wet wipe and wipe all the oil off. Put new oil on your hands and keep rubbing it on the spray paint areas.

Step 2: Keep repeating Step 1 until you get rid of all of it!

  • I preferred to use baby wipes to wipe away the oil, because it seemed impossible with water â€˘
  • You can also use a cotton ball to spread your oil, but I preferred using my hand because it was so much more effective!

This is what my hand looked like in the beginning:

Wood Sign: Some Of Our Greatest Blessings Call Me Grandma

Mother’s day comes around like… every year. And we don’t get younger! By now my mom is a proud grandmother and what else could I do but make her a sign with this cute saying on it??? Nothing, I just had to.

I find that we get so caught up with our own life, that we forget to appreciate our mothers more and more. The older you get the more you realize how much your parents have done for you.

This was a simple DIY that bought happy smiles to our mother’s faces… who doesn’t like hanging up pictures of their grand kids… like really?

Easy Father’s Day Gift

Hi everybody,

Father’s day is around the corner! Totally forgot? Had no time to buy or make something? Well, this DIY is super simple and took me about an hour to do. It was so much fun taking these pictures with her. She was so happy (like almost always) and it was kind of funny how she slid off to the sides after a couple seconds. She can’t hold herself up for too long, because hey she’s only 3 months. So let’s get started and don’t forget to notice how cute she is 🙂

What you need:

  • Wood Board or any kind of surface
  • Pictures of your child/children
  • Double Sided Adhesive Tape
  • Self-Leveling Hanger
  • Cutting Board and Marker to make pictures fit on Board (if needed)

I first cut my pictures to fit the board. If you have a board that is big enough for your pictures, then this is obviously unnecessary. My board is 12 inch in length.

Then, I lined the photos on the board to see how I was going to tape them on.

Then all you have left is to tape them on and attach a hanger on the back.

Notice how the first letter ‘D’ picture shows her standard pose – hands in her mouth. I don’t seem to break that habit *sigh*.

I must say, this is a super cute and not piggy bank breaking DIY. I totally love how it turned out!

How To Get Rid of Warts Fast And Naturally

Almost everybody had to fight against warts in their teenage years. They just multiply and spread out. Usually they’re found on hands or feet, because that’s where we come in contact with the most things. I had the pleasure of being troubled by them as well, and nothing that I did worked. And trust me, I did everything! I took a bunch of vitamins to build my immune system, the duct tape method, freezing method, applied: banana peel, onions, tea tree oil etc.

There was only TWO simple things that worked wonder for me, so here you go:

  1. Nail Polish Remover

I used this brand of nail polish remover, but really, you can use anything you like. Just apply some on a band-aid and wrap it around your wart. Repeat this process every day for about 7-14 days. By that time, your wart should be history!

2.  80% Vinegar

This is very hard to buy because the acidity is so high. But I found a website for you here.

When applying it, you have to be SUPER careful. It burns everything you come in contact with.

**How to do it:**

Before applying, take some Vaseline and cover the area around the wart. Then, take a Q-tip and dip it in the vinegar solution. Now take your dipped Q-tip and hold it only on the wart for 15 minutes. It can be a bit painful, because it is burning the wart out. If you can’t hold it for the whole 15 minutes, just hold it as long as possible.

Wait for a couple days and let the vinegar do it’s magic. You will see black spots forming in your wart. These are the dead roots. You have to make sure to get rid of all the dead roots otherwise the wart will come back.

Repeat as many times as needed, but be sure to wait at least 24 hours between each application.

Some of my warts needed just one application, others 2-3.

Let me know what you use and if you want to know more about the methods listed in the intro! Good luck!

DIY Thank-You Flowers

IMG_1923.JPGNeed a quick and not too expensive thank-you gift? Then you’re at the right place! This cost me less than $5 and was done in about 5 minutes! Keep reading to see how I did it.

What you need:

  • Flower Pot
  • Burlap
  • Jute Twine
  • Small Construction Paper
  • Pen or Marker
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

First you take your flower pot and measure the burlap around it. I got my flower pot for $3.99 at Walmart.

Then you hot glue the burlap all around the flower pot. My burlap piece was a bit too long for the small pot so I overlapped it at the top. It adds a nice touch to it.

This is how I glued the back.

Now you take the Jute Twine and tie a bow around the pot.

Your last step is to cut out a small, long strip from the construction paper, write thank-you or a little note on it and stick it in the flowers!

DIY Pinecone Vase

An easy and fast DIY you can make are these adorable Pine cone Vases. I made these for some friends as a Christmas gift and they totally loved it!

What you need:

  • 2 foam balls
  • 2 Vases
  • 2 shishkabob sticks
  • pinecones
  • ribbon
  • white sand
  • hot glue gun

I started off water coloring the two foam balls black. This lets the little spaces that show between the pinecones not be as apparent.

While those were drying I took my pine cones and a brush and painted the ends white. This took a looong time. Thankfully I had help from my little sister, but if you don’t, then I would recommend buying pine cones that already have some color on them.

Then I took the two shishkabob sticks and stuck them in the black foam balls. I stuck them about 1/3 of the stick deep.

You can see that my fingerprints are visible, so I held the sticks and repainted over those areas.

While the balls were drying again, I filled the vases which were from dollarama with fine white sand and chose a ribbon.

I decided on the white, because it just looks that much cuter!

Now all you have left to do is stick the foam ball with the stick in the sand and start hot gluing your pinecones on!

This was the easiest part and was done really fast!IMG_1071And there you go, some cute winter decoration for your house or a gift for somebody you love!
