Thrift Store Makeover #1I had this awesome find at our thrift store, which only cost me 50 cents! When I saw it, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it, and I did! This Thrift Store Makeover #1 is only the first of many to come! It was so simple to do and looks super cute!

You know when you have a decorative accent, and you just can’t decide where to put it? It just looks great wherever you try it out? Well, I had that problem with this piece. I find hearts just look great in whatever corner you put them and add such a homey feeling to the room.

How I did it:

First I took the straw stuff off. I was happy to throw that out, because it had such an old and moldy smell to it. Next, I sanded the green paint off the big hearts and the 3 small hearts that were attached to the straw.

It was pretty tricky to sand the small hearts, because they are just so small, but with lots of trial and error I finally made it! Not without scuffing my nail though…

Then, I took some white spray paint and painted it white. After about 20 minutes, I took the small hearts and arranged them where I liked them to be. By then they weren’t dry all the way so they stuck on it really well!

Now, I took some ribbon that I had left over and made a bow out of it. I arranged it where I liked it and hot glued it on.
